San Cisco

San Cisco, the four-piece from Fremantle (Western Australia), have climbed their way up from playing in garages to being named the next best thing from “down under”. Jordi, Josh, Nick and Scarlett, who have already released an EP entitled Awkward and are about to come out with a full studio album later this year ( the first single “Fred Astaire” is out now), are currently touring around Australia. We met with Jordi (lead vocals and guitar)

Max Richter

British composer Max Richter has done pretty much everything: from founding his own ensemble Piano Circus, to producing other artists, from releasing 6 albums to being featured on soundtracks for television and films such as Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island and Terrence Malick’s To The Wonder. We caught up with him and discovered many things… like his passion for The Kinks.

Sun Airway

Sumptuous synths, romantic pop, sharp lyrics…meet Sun Airway, the Philadelphia bliss-pop duo who charmed the audience with two successful albums, Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier (2010) and Soft Fall (2012) both released by Dead Oceans Records. We spoke to John Barthmus (the other bandmate is Patrick Marsceill and they’re both formerly of the now-defunct emo band the A-Sides) and found out he’s got one or two things to say to David Bowie… Enjoy.

Os Mutantes

Brazil is not only home of Samba…it’s also the country of Os Mutantes, the psychedelic rock band of the 60’s and 70’s who reunited in the early 2000’s with a brand new album entitled Fool Metal Jacket, to be released on April 30th, and a tour. Originally from Sao Paulo, the band has always mixed the sound of acts like Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles with boss nova and tropicalia. We caught up with band member Sérgio Dias (composer and guitarist) and sat down on our couch…

The Shoes

French ’80s synth pop-inspired duo The Shoes started as producers and later stepped out from behind the mixing desk to embark on their own successful career. School buddies Guillaume Brière and Benjamin Lebeau have already worked with an impressive number of uber cool acts like Lana Del Rey and Woodkid, aka Yoann Lemoine, who also directed two of the band’s best videos, “Time to Dance” (starring Jake Gyllenhaal) and “Wastin’ Time”. Read what they revealed on our couch…

Metal Mother

From an ancient and foggy woods comes the sound of Taara Tati, aka Metal Mother, the dark-wave/avant-pop act from Oakland, CA. The critically acclaimed debut album Bonfire Diaries (2011) will be followed by Ionika, her new work set to be released on April 16th. As Tati stated, her major inspiration for the new album has been a long travel across Europe, where she learnt about old cultures, Celtic hymns, women warriors and sacred sites. While you wait to hear how this turned out in her music, find out what she revealed to us…

Parov Stelar

Marcus Fureder, aka Parov Stelar, the Austrian dj, producer and musician (with the Parov Stelar Band) has just released a new LP entitled “The Invisible Girl”, his 8th studio album. Electro swing, breakbeat, jazz and electro funk… his music has been described in many ways and was featured in tv Ads and in hundreds of compilations (such as Buddha Bar and Hotel Costes). Recently he sat down with us for a little chat about Sundays in bed, Michael Jackson and Picasso.
